The only comments I have are about the aqueduct system that supplied the water. There is a general entry at this link. By the time this image was taken, a new pressure aqueduct was in place that supplied water even to dwellings in upper stories in some some places--obviously not here. Public fountains and basins for washing clothes remained quite common even after the new aqueduct was in place (in the 1880s).
